Forge Operative (Grade 3)

Job Purpose:

To support the hammer crew in the safe and efficient production of forgings, put in measures so that quality, productivity and delivery targets are achieved during the production run

Job Details:

Full time, temporary

Duties and responsibilities:                                         

  • Follow the Values set by Henry Williams Limited.
  • It is your duty whilst at work to take care for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
  • Highlight any hazards or areas of improvement surrounding health and safety to the relevant personnel.
  • Follow all policies, process flows and standard operating procedures in respect to Health, Safety, Quality and Environment.
  • Strive to achieve product quality requirements.
  • Accurately maintain the production system, in real-time.
  • Work with hand tools and hand powered tools
  • Maintain and continually improve the 6S standards on the unit.
  • Comply with the company's integrated management system requirements.
  • To carry out any other duty, for which you are suitably competent, as deemed necessary by the team leader, supervisor or manager.

Essential job related skills and knowledge:

  • Competent to use hand tools or hand powered tools
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements

Desirable job related skills and knowledge:

  • Experience of working with power presses
  • FLT driving
  • Experience of working with ERP systems
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of working with Lean management systems

Working Hours:

Monday – Thursday 7am – 4.15pm
