Control Systems

control

Control systems have been at the centre of the operations of Henry Williams Limited since our very earliest days, though the nature and application of those systems have changed enormously over the years. The company was formed in 1883 to manufacture control and signalling equipment for the rapidly expanding railways network. In the 1950s the advent of Solid State Electronics moved the field of control systems into new territory, we have continued to set the pace ever since, providing a wide range of systems for the control, monitoring and recording of industrial processes in both the public and private sectors.

In addition to our work in control systems, we also design, manufacture, install and commission a wide range of products for the railways and highways industries, as well as offering a comprehensive forgings service.

Today, we are a versatile and multi-skilled engineering business, based in Darlington in premises occupying almost 10,000 square metres and on a site covering 4 hectares in total. We can call on advanced electrical engineering, forging and fabrication technology, as well as first class design and project management expertise, to meet the ever-advancing control and automation needs of a wide range of market sectors.
