Railways Treadle

Henry Williams offers two types of electro-mechanical treadle switches which provide a safe operational environment throughout the rail infrastructure and are designed to detect train movements and provide signalling control.

Henry Williams are the supplier of the "Cautor" and "Forfex" electromechanical detectors commonly used to initiate control primarily for level crossings, signal control, axle counting, depot protection and train wash systems.

The treadle or electromechanical switch provides detection at a given point on the passage of a train or single vehicle travelling at speeds of up to 260 km/hour with either uni or bi-directional control.

Henry Williams after-sales service care is available to extend the life and maintain the high reliability of the treadle switch by refurbishing existing units and replacing all wearing components at a fraction of the new unit cost.
