Environmental Standard achieved

Henry Williams has spent the last six months developing an Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance
with the international standard ISO 14001. This has now been formally recognised as compliant by the external auditing body, BSI, at the first attempt.

Mark Rigg, Quality and Environmental Manager, in conjunction with consultants, The Environmental Academy, have created a complete EMS that takes into account all the aspects and impacts on the environment of the Henry Williams’ business. This is no minor achievement considering the broad range of activities that are undertaken not only on the Darlington factory site but also during the installation and maintenance of systems on Client’s premises. Mark Rigg stated “This milestone in the development of our management systems adds to our existing ISO 9001 standard to show that we operate our business in accordance with international standards.”

The Environmental Academy is located in Gateshead and provided a complete support package ranging from identifying legislative requirements through to the development of induction and training programmes.
